Coloring Tips for Little Hands
For young colorists aged 4+, we recommend starting with chunky crayons or jumbo colored pencils — they're easier for small hands to grip. Don't worry about staying perfectly inside the lines; the goal at this age is to enjoy the process and develop grip strength. Try naming the colors as your child uses them to build vocabulary at the same time!
Print this page on slightly thicker paper (120 gsm or more) if you're using markers to prevent bleed-through. For a mess-free option, try our Coloring Book Maker to create a custom coloring book. You might also enjoy our Handwriting Practice Generator for more fine motor practice.
